Stream2Sea is a woman-owned, Florida-based personal care company making reef-safer sunscreen, mask defog, leave-in conditioner, and body care for divers. Founded in Wauchula, Florida in 2015 by cosmetic chemist and certified scuba diver Autumn Blum, Stream2Sea launched after a liveaboard dive trip in Palau where Blum watched fellow divers rinse off chemical sunscreen and shampoo into the reef. Today, Stream2Sea is woman-owned and WBENC-certified, manufactured in-house at their FDA-inspected facility in central Florida.
Stream2Sea uses the term "reef-safer" instead of "reef-safe" because "reef-safe" has no legal definition or regulatory standard. Every Stream2Sea product has passed independent ecotoxicology testing — including HEL Labs Protect Land + Sea certification, one of the only third-party reef-safety certifications backed by actual aquatic testing. Stream2Sea sunscreens use 100% non-nano zinc oxide and contain zero oxybenzone or octinoxate.
