Straight answers about digital waivers on Buddy.
Are digital waivers really free on Buddy?
Yes. Waivers are included free when you use Buddy for Business, with unlimited waivers and signatures. Each time someone books, the waivers you’ve assigned to that activity are activated for that customer.
Can I create all my own waivers?
Yes. You create every waiver yourself, like building a form, with fields such as legal acknowledgements, signatures, checkboxes, dates, and more, then assign them to your tours, courses, and trips.
When and how do customers sign?
Customers can sign on the confirmation page right after booking, from the confirmation email, from an email or SMS reminder before they arrive, or at check-in from a link sent by email or text. Signing works on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
Can I see who has signed?
Yes. Open the activity from your calendar and go to the Customers tab to see everyone attending and which waivers each person has and hasn’t signed. From there you can resend waivers by email or SMS.
Do I still need Smartwaiver or another waiver app?
No. If you use Buddy waivers, you don’t need a separate waiver system. Every waiver is linked to the booking and the customer who signed it.
Can one activity have more than one waiver?
Yes. You can currently link up to three waivers to each activity. If your business needs more, talk to us about your setup.
Is Buddy legally responsible for my waivers?
No. Buddy is the technology that collects and records signatures. You write the legal acknowledgements in your waivers, and we recommend they come from your own legal counsel. Every signed waiver is stored with the signature, timestamp, and IP address.
